Hi..
It's been a while since I posted here..always a great bunch of people here..
OK..here is the situation...
I go to sign up for California Army-NG in July, since July was my deadline for age including all my prior USMC time..
They played games and try to screw me 10 minutes before giving an oath...they changed the agreements in the contract...
So I walk...and am told I can still come back..but would need age waiver..So in August I re-negotiated a new contract that I like.. The recruiter said the age waiver is a piece of cake since I am only a month over...Now I have been in touch with the recruiter every 2 weeks since August and he keeps saying he has not heard anything back from the waiver...So last week I tell him this is starting to sound like BS...he says that ALL NG waivers in California have been on hold for the last few months due to the changing of Governor and various departments...
So...Does this sound like BS or is this legit???
If I wait any longer and there really is no waiver in process...then I will "really" be too old to return to duty...
Now if I find out I've been had..I am not going to be a happy camper to say the least...I will be really pissed to put it mildly...I won't need the ARMY at that point since I will HALO in IRAQ on my own and kill as many of these al-Qaida insurgents as I can...just need some funds...feel free to pitch in $$$$
Thanks
Chris

Can't tell you if it's BS or not. But try a different recruiter and se what he/she has to say about the situation.

merrec,
I have to agree with irish on one point, yes any waiver for NG has to be signed off by the TAG.
Now Irish I may be wrong, (don't think I am ) But SC is the only State that elects it's TAG.
But being that it is California...I can understand the screw up politics.
Don't give up

I stand corrected by self investigation:
ASSIGNMENTS: Major General Monroe was appointed as the 42nd Adjutant General of California by Governor Gray Davis on April 28, 1999.
4 years of Active duty then over 40 years as as NG. Retired educator.
Our TAG is the ONLY ELECTED TAG

Irish, belive me ..it's the same LOL. We had a period were the Gov. was Democrat and the TAG was Republican. Should have seen some of those battles.

Thanks for the info....I feel a little better now about the whole thing...
I will be going in as a rigger...this way I get airborne
Then as soon as the smoke clears and a year goes by....I will make a dash for the 19th SF group or LRS in Los Alamitos...
Regards
Chris
