Is there a specific mos that will let me blow $hit up? or would that be like a SF engineer?

For a "beginner": 12B, Combat Engineer. This is the Army MOS that "blows things up".

Try searching the internet (use Google). You're a dull boy, Billy.

When I was in Korea with the 1st Cav, I was sent to Demolition and Land Mine Warfare School, don't know why, never used the training. There was a lot of unexploded ordinance in Korea in 60, mostly mortar rnds, bangalore torpedos, mines, etc. Most mine fields were marked, but many were not yet secured or cleared. We had a Tank that could be outfitted with a flail to clear mine fields but I never did see it used, probably left over from the War. When we found unexploded ordinance we called the Engrs. If a Slope found it first, [bomb] [xx(], we didn't have to call anyone.

HMMMM not sure we want someone who just wants to blow sh4t up. A big part of the job is preventing sh7t from blowing up. Might be just to quick to place the ticking tool on the problem instead of beating the damn thing
- There are very few problems that cannot be solved by the suitable application of
HIGH EXPLOSIVES -

so what have you decided roadwarrior?
i think you would not be a good candidate for 18X. i like you kid, but you have to mature a little more before you go getting into the SF pipeline. not that i'm an expert on what they are looking for, but i know they want someone a little more grown up.
maybe some time in the INFANTRY or ENGINEERS is exactly what you need.

I would have to say that the combat engineers in Iraq are definitely getting a workout over in Iraq right now..
For 4 straight months, my buds, who are CE's were tasked everyday to do Unexploded Ordanance and Vehicle demolition work. They were getting to blow **** up on a daily basis. The on the job training and expertise they were gaining was invaluable. I would go anywhere with these guys. They extremely competent and did their jobs in an awesome manner. I had the pleasure of going on a few of these missions with them in Iraq. LOL..we packed this one iraqi tank with so much demo that we blew the turret off of it 120 feet into the air. It was a bit overkill but well worth the show we got from about a klick away...go combat engineer road warrior,,you can always go the sf route after you gain invaluable experience..just my 2 cents
