Was reffering to Bangor, but actualy think the Bn. HQs were in Brunswick, not sure to be honest. Only went up there a couple times. Remember it was a heck of a drive. It was on a Military Instalation of sorts.

When ever I see young Dep'er's or wannabe Deper's on here bad mouthing Recruiters it really makes my skin crawl. 99% of the time they don't have any idea what they are talking about and are basing there comments off of a stereo type of recruiters.
We have a saying in my business, "There are a few people that work very hard everyday to give us all a bad name"
My recruiter kicked ass, I lived 65 miles from his office and 110 miles from the MEPS station. Every time I had to be some place he would drive to my house and get me. My dad told him one time he didn't have to do it that and he would be more then happy to take me. He replied "MR Hawley this young man has cost you enough $$ already, its the US Armys turn to take care of him" It was kind of cheesey now that I see it in print but he was a stand up guy that pulled no punches and told me exactly what life as an 11B1P would be like. At no point in my career did it ever cross my mind that he BS'ed me.

I only dealt with one rec who was on the slimy side.
Every other one I dealt with, bent over backwards trying to get me in. Thumbs up to them!!

I use to think Recruiting was easy till I got here. Ive learned alot being here which will make me a better NCO when I get back to the line.
