I've been throwing the idea of getting back in quite a bit lately. Does anyone know of a good NG unit my way? (Western NY Rochester to be exact) I've been searching through the archives for a couple of hours on and off so if I missed something I'll push as needed. If I went back in either NG or AD would it be as my old MOS? or would I be able to go another route like 19D or 13F (read alot about those in my searches). Thanks in advance!

Thanks, wow that looks like more than I found on the NG website unit finder. I wonder if anyone has any information or has worked with any of those units that could point me in the right direction. Any idea on the MOS point?

Did a quick search of on the web "Prior Service national Guard", and all the sites I read (Oregon, Iowa, and one other) stated a PS soldier could either retain their MOS or retrain. More specifc info will depend on the unit you join. If you go back AD, more than likely it will be in your previous MOS, or from a very short list of hard to fill MOS's like 77F, fuel handler. Hope this helps a little. Good luck.

CR6 - Thanks for the info! So I could retrain in the NG as a 19D and then request to go active duty in my new MOS? Anyway to make it back to the 82nd as a 19D? (is that possible?)
