I am currently and AF cadet and I recently took the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test and did not pass the math section. So, essentially, my AFROTC days are over. I have the opportunity to slide over to Army ROTC or I could enlist with the Air Force. I know many of you are on active duty or were and can comment with better knowledge than I can. So feel free to offer your .02...if you were in my boat etc.

okay heres .02
First you must be the one to decide what you wish to do.
Second, If you failed out to be an Air Force Officer, Why do you think you would be able to just jump in and be an Army Officer?
I guess Army Officers are not as or need to be as smart as our Air Force counter parts?
Air Force Enlisted Or Army Officer...hmmm
Think you should knock out about 1000 P/U for attempting to COMPARE the two! Hooah!

I guess allot of that depends on what you are wanting to do with your career. Are you wanting to be career military or are you involved in ROTC just to get the college and then move on once you have an education and repayed the debt to Uncle Sam?
BTW I moved this to the Recruiting form.

I know the choice is mine and I preferred to seek advice from those-in-the-know. The AF has a test that guages how they select their officers,Army does not(I don't make the rules).... IMO the test seems only relevant for Pilots and Nav! As far as $$ for school, I've got financial aid and I work (non-ROTC scholarship). I am not sure if career is in the cards just yet. I had wanted to see how active duty progressed. Essentially, I'm anxious for active duty.

I think you need to truly analyze what you want to do. Do you want to lead troops? Do you want to go to the field? Do you want to work with technology? I'm giving you credit for being smart enough to have a basic idea of the responsibilites and tasks of an officer and an airman. What's attractive about each alternative? What's not so hot about each one?
Think those through, and then weigh in other factors such as staying in school vs enlisting ASAP. IMO though, if you want to be an officer (ie be responsible for the collective good of an organization, lead from the front and ensure your men have the plans and resources they need so they can concentrate on accomplsihing the mission), you'd have a pretty good idea already. Good luck.
