Okay, I have had a bit of confusion regarding the MOS of a flight medic. About a year ago I contacted a semi-local ARNG –Air Ambulance Company. The recruiter explained to me to be a flight medic you have to be E-5. Which I confirmed thru other sources, but he also told me the to be a medic you need to be a crew chief, okay I still buy that, I never could find documentation on that but I will give that one to him. That MOS is 67?. He then tells me to become a crew chief I need to start out as one of the 68 series jobs.
The 68 series MOS were the only open MOS in the unit. I got the feeling he was just trying to fill his open slots and not telling me the truth. I have no problem putting my time in but I just want to understand the career path before launching. I am a civilian paramedic actually joining an ARNG AASLT as a 91W unit. I am just looking to the future. So can someone set the MOS confusion for the career path for me?
Thanks
kary

That is what I thought, and the course of action I was thinking about. When the recruiter tried and sell me the line about having to be a 68 I asked him "do you really think it is safe for me to work on a 3+ million dollar bird, just two days a month." I felt like he was just trying to fill his open slots.
thanks again eyes
