Going into the local 99 resteraunt today, met up with 2 older Gentleman who insisted on holding the door for me. From my short haircut and my BDU Pants (don't normaly wear them, but today was one of those rare occasins) they thought I was a Marine (LMAO!!). Told them I should hold the door for them and they said that it would be their Honor for a former Marine and Navy Vet to hold the door for a Paratrooper Veteran. (These guys were WWII Vets)Small talked about Iraq and such. I pick up my order go out to the car and see the License Plate on the Navy Vets car, he was a Former Commander of the Naval Academy. I went back inside and told him if he ever held the door for me again I would have to do about 500 Push Ups! Who the heck was Honored more, me or them?? I know how I feel!
What the hell Rank is the Commander of the Naval Academy??

Ben, a Commander is the equivalent of a LTC in the other services.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American GI.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Barry, he wasn't a Commander (rank) but Former Commander Of the Naval Academy. I figure he had to have be an Admiral to Command the Naval Academy. In any case it was one of those "No you go first, I'll hold the door for you" scenes at the door. I always hold doors open for people Senior to me and or ladies. It felt pretty good to be talked to like that by two men who obviously laid it on the line somewhere long before I was even thought of.

Roger that Barry, but if this gentleman was Superintendant at Annapolis, he's an admiral. If he's a commander who went to USNA, then he's an O5. We're tracking.

Knocking them out for not paying attention to detail.
