Wow TOm. Good luck. Mustangs rule!!

Go with God, but make Him walk the point.

If you load a mudfoot down with a lot of gadgets he has to watch somebody a lot more simply equipped - say with a stone axe - will sneak up and bash his head in while he is trying to read a Vernier. - Robert Heinlein

Tom, good luck on your commission, the Army needs more Mustangs believe me. I do know about the SMP program, go for it.

I had a three ligament sprain on a road march [right ankle] here in IOBC. The commander told me as long that it aint broken I can stay in the course. I've been driving on with pain for two weeks now. Everything else is going well.

Yea!! They wanted the range back, . . well they got it back but Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has announced that the U.S. Navy will close the Roosevelt Roads Naval Air Station in Puerto Rico in 2004, eliminating 1,200 civilian jobs as well as 700 military positions. This naval facility is estimated to have put nearly $300 million annually into the local economy.
Buh-bye! So long, and thanks for all the fish.

RR,
How you doing brother, ain't heard much from you lately. OBC going good? Just got my next pitch today. Said they would pay for my 2nd Masters or Law school at Notre Dame if I did some ROTC hitch to get commissioned. Ever heard of the SMP program or something to that effect? Take care and keep charging!

Semper Fie!

SMP = Simultaneous Membership Program

Generally only offered to prior service cadets

BTDT
You are a ROTC cadet at college and also assigned to a reserve unit (TUP) of some sort as a cadet officer, usually as a platoon leader. Lots of fun. You get your ROTC stipend and also get drill pay for your reserve weekends as an E5. After two years, (MS 3&4) you will get commissioned. Oh yeah, I forgot Advanced Cramp, what a waste of a summer.
