[idea]How about a Javelin mount on the Gator? That way troopers won't have to lug that heavy thing around on their backs.

That really doesn't sound much smaller than a WWII jeep does it?

Just read an after action report on the M-Gator's performance in GWII. The evaluator had no negative comments and passed on generally great reviews from the troops in the field. Two areas for improvement stood out, the need for a crew served weapon mount and more reliable tires. I've no doubt that both would have been solved in the field by the troops in good time. In closing the evaluator allowed as how the vehicles had become indispensible to the units canvassed and that he would not want to be the officer detailed to take them away. Sounds like a man with a lot of sense.

A related subject - we had mules (the motorized table kind)when I was with the Cav. Couldn't use them in the field but they were great standdown toys. We proved you could get a platoon of troopers on one. And it would move far enough to get half of them to fall off.

"Overwhelming firepower is just enough!"
