I guess this is the right place to put this. I just returned from delivering my son to West Point. I shared with many of you earlier that he had been accepted. Quite an emotional time, and should be an interesting four years.

Congratulations. I'm sure that he will make a fine officer after listening to his NCO father's stories about new Lientenants.

lol - thanks Arctic. I think if I'd known back then what WP officers go through to JUST get in, then after they are out, maybe I'd have given them a little more leaway! Trust me, its a long, hard road for a young man or woman to get into the academy (check out the website), and as we all know, a long road after they graduate. It takes a dedicated person to agree to 9 yrs of active service! Excuse me, but I'm very proud of this young man, he's worked his azz off to reach a goal and has done so!! hooah!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Eyes, I'm sure he's gonna do well. Hopefully, two or three summers from now he'll be spending about 3 weeks at Benning!

Thanks folks - you really help out an old man's ego! Zoso - you're right there. It is an amazing process to go through. It was announced to us at R-day (reception day) on Monday that West Point was the 7th toughest school in the US to get into. Good luck to you during your application process. I am officially done now. I have a daughter that is a senior in college this coming year. Now its time for daddy to play!!

Thanks Heather. Parent.net is quite helpful. I think they've answered every concievable question 10 times! Good luck to you and hopefully we'll run into you sometime at the academy.
