I have to say that sounds pretty scary but you gotta respect a dog carrying out his job like that. He had his world, his a.o., and noone was coming through it. Needless to say one of the best guard dogs is a Doberman. But the scene of the dead guy with his throat ripped out sounds horrific... Thanks for the story airborne

Now, that is one mean, hard dog. I have no idea how one would train a dog to target the throat. Wait, I may have an idea... involving some Guantanamo Bay detainees, but it would not fly in the free world.

And when you say pain do you mean like how my southern granddaddy would smack his dog on the nose with a newspaper or more like choke collars? Or is it straight up Wall to Wall counseling statement? Have a great day fellas.
It all depends on the dog. You really dont need a newspaper to hit a dog on the nose with. Your hand works just fine. Dogs hate getting hit on the nose. IMO Id use a pinch instead of a choke. Studies have shown that a choke causes more damage than a pinch. Of course if you have never used a pinch make sure you get learned on the proper way to use it. Make sure though you dont keep the choke/pinch on the dog all the time because if you do the dog will get used to it and it will become ineffective.

So I have chosen the pup! Here he is and also a photo of his father. He is the second largest in the litter. The largest is bigger than him by at least 20% and scored really high for schutzhund etc. Mine was little more social and friendly-
This is pup aka 'brown male'

Here's dad..

Can you believe they were this big 4 weeks ago!!?

Here is the largest in the litter- 'red male'
