The 4th Brigade of the 25th ID will hold a deployment ceremony on February 3, 2009. There are a few of us from the Association that plan on attending the ceremony for these Paratroopers. As of yet I have no details regarding the actual location or time of the ceremony, but I am guessing that it will be in the convention center in Anchorage in the early- to mid-afternoon hours. Anyone wanting to attend should let me know so that I can keep you updated.

| 509 trooper: Thanks for your service. My son is in the 501st, part of that deal. I would appreciate you keeping this thread up to date. As a "rookie" parent from the midwest, I was given some information from someone at FRG that the deployments go out in waves, it's very businesslike and the most important attendance for out of state family members would be the redeployment ceremony. However, this ceremony sounds like it could be a pretty big deal. Any thoughts out there would be helpful and very much appreciated, especially from those who have deployed. Father of a hero

There will be a forward element that deploys prior to the bulk of the Brigade. However, the main part of the Brigade will go out at roughly the same time. The ceremony will have most of the Brigade in attendance.
