HONOLULU — The Army is going ahead with plans to base about 4,200 more soldiers in Alaska and Hawaii. The Army announced Friday its final decision to add 1,980 more troops in Hawaii and 2,200 in Alaska, saying it is based on mission requirements for the region, soldier and family needs and an analysis of an environmental impact statement and public comment over the past few months. http://www.armytimes.com/news/2008/09/ap_soldierspacific_091308/

Earlier, the Army decided to station a brigade of 567 soldiers at Fort Drum, N.Y., that had been scheduled for Hawaii, and to station an expeditionary sustainment command of 254 troops at Fort Lewis, Wash.
Hmmm "a brigade of 567 soldiers..." Unless it is a brigade HQ a brigade is about 2200 strong and a battalion is about 560 strong unless MTOEs have change radically in the last 10 years. Since it does not identify what type of brigade I could be wrong. But even a CS or a CSS brigade is usually much larger than 567.

You're right. A CS and CSS batallion is about 550-600 people. It's either just wrong wording or something I've never see before.
