Paratroopers:

I am a proud airborne dad. My 19 year old son is in the 501st in Alaska since July. The Brigade seems like it is top notch, for sure. I never served, probably should have, my son's grandfather served, and his great grandfather volunteered for two world wars. I lived Airborne school through my son. What an incredibly awesome experience! A friend dared me to do a tandem jump from 15,000 feet. I know it is nothing like the landings you guys do, but I feel I had a lot of the same butterflies for a first jump as the plane took off and the doors opened. I have read posts for a few months now, so figured I should introduce myself in case I have any questions of you in the future.

Thank you for your service. You are the best.

Welcome to the site and thank your son from us for his service to our Country.  I have been to Ft. Richardson four times and have met many of the Troopers there(though most were in the 3-509th).  Your son is in good hands with the 4th Brigade of the 25th.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American GI.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Welcome! a good friend of mine is the Brigade chaplain up there, a great guy. Thank you for your son's service and thank you for your support. Glad you've at least joined the ranks of those who've left an aircraft in flight, it's an amazing thing and a small club!!

It is good to know that soldiers still look forward to the distinction of Airborne and I am proud you support you son. He should find the experience life long and bonding to many friends that will last a lifetime.   Airborne is not just a thing to do, but a pattern of thought.
