AbnCrazy (8/29/2008) Thje only thing your recrutier can give you is a ride to MEPS.... BS6 can correct me if I am wrong, but the MEPS Guidance Councelors are the ones who will be telling you what you can get/qualify for, and writing out the contract... Your recrutier may be able to send up some pressure through his Company Commander/ 1Sg, but they can not try and pressure the MEPS one way or another. Their job is to get you up there, and to talk you into joining.Actually, the recruiter now has the power to reserve the contract with a new system USAREC came up with a couple years ago. You still go to MEPS to seal the deal, but the recruiter now does more with the actual contract.

| Bad news for me. I only have a GED so that means no guarantee at all for airborne. The pins in my arms means i'll never get airborne and maybe not even infantry.

BrandonP (9/3/2008) Bad news for me. I only have a GED so that means no guarantee at all for airborne. The pins in my arms means i'll never get airborne and maybe not even infantry.Unfortunately, thats the breaks... this is an all volunteer service so they can afford to be a little bit more picky about who they choose to spend the money on. If its your goal to get into the service and go airborne... I say go in and take a non infantry role, then you can push and max the PT every time and try to get your unit to send you to airborne school in the future.
