Ok, so here is what I am looking at, I know it may be a tough one because of changing status. But maybe there is someone who works in Finance or has done this before that may be able to help. My fiancee and I are planning on being married before I deploy. With that said I am trying to understand the pay system for dual military couples that are in the reserves. I am going to throw out a couple of Questions and see if anyone has anything to share.

We own a Home, and we have no children.

With me being on Reserve status and her on active status if we were to be marrried would she be entitled to BAH with dependents or without?

When I deploy, she will be on Reserve status and I will be on Acitve status will I be able to get BAH with or without dependents?

If we were both activated in the same time period will either of us be able to get BAH with or without Dependents?

Is there something that I haven't even thought about here as well?

Thank you to anyone who can share their knowledge and experience with a couple of Specialists who are relativley new to this.

I'll field this one, yall sit down

I'm assuming there are no children.

In which case, either you or your spouse are entitled to with/dependant BAH, as long as the other isn't mobilized.  If both are mob'd then both of you will receive single BAH.  The rulles will change slightly if one of you goes AD, but that's for another lesson.

Marry after the deployment and both draw max BAH, then use that saved money to put a downpayment on a house.......or pay down your current residence.

But then you are not living in sin........ARE YOU?????????

Well we are across the country right now. I really wish we were living in sin, that would suit me just fine.
