The best way to watch is laying on a lounge chair (with prefered adult beverage and some company of course). See attached article and image. The lazy "W" of Cassiopia is easy to identify. Look for it medium high more or less in the North East at about 24:00 for those here in north America. If you find it you will see where the Perseid meteors are coming from.

Sorry, had a brain fart. You look for Cassiopia in the North East NOT the south east as I stated in the OP.

| I agree that a lounge chair is the best way to do star gazing. If no lounge chair, a blanket on a grassy knoll works well.
