Any more there is no reason to place the Guard SF units near AD SF units as the Guard units now have pretty much the exact same equipment, schools, etc. and since all have rotated into the sandbox all are equally proficient in their jobs. The Guard SF units are not the same poorly equipped, funded and trained ones I served with in the 80's. Today's Guard unit goes to the same schools, uses the same equipment has HALO and SCUBA that are actually current and have the TO&E to perform their missions...and thw SFers have no problem with telling anyone they are not "part-time" SF. After going through SFAUC with C/1/20 I have to say I agree, the training, support and ranges could not have been run any better. Texas is lucky to get a money-sucking, resource gobbling, high speed low drag SF unit!

Hey your fruit salad looks almost identical to mine.  The only one I don't have is the one on the left on the second row.  What is that?  I have one other that you don't show for the Lebanese "order of the cedar" 3rd class.  Pretty little thing, white with red strips on the end and a green cedar in the middle.

Yeah that yellow ribbon second row is a Reserve Componants Achievement Medal..honestly don't remember what it is for but eveidentally while a Reserve Componant(Guardsman) Soldier I did something worth of the ribbon. Sounds like your ribbon for Lebanon has some interesting stories behind it, that A.O. is an interesting place! If things continue as planned I'll have as SSI and GWOT medal after our deployment to Iraq sometime after the ist of next year.

Stand in the door!

The article said that Texas hasnt had a SF unit for approx 15 yrs.  Anyone know what that unit was?  I believe it was in Lubbock, but can't recall the specifics.
