We try to make the events as convenient as we can for people as far as time and getting a little more centrally located.  And starting last year the monthly newsletter started getting an upgrade as well, although I do believe we have more we can do in the way of improvement there.

But in regard to location, being a state wide Chapter it presents us with a little more of a challenge in that regard.  The more we go to a centralized location the longer a drive the active members have.  We have it down to where most of those coming are driving less than an hour.

As for event types we do a summer social/picnic, the Veteran's Day Parade, a Christmas party and social and the Chapter installation.  We also are working on doing informal meetings in areas of the State that are farther away so those members who can't ordinaliy make it at least get a face to face with some of the officers and other Chapter members.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American GI.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

"History teaches that when you become indifferent and lose the will to fight someone who has the will to fight will take over." COLONEL BULL SIMONS

Dont get me wrong, I understand the challenge, I may not have a state to have to rove around in but Chicago's a big place to try to reach out in. Some people talk about thier local newspapers as a way to get the word out, unfortunately, here in Chicago, there are dozens of 'local' newspapers.
