As others already mentioned, nothing is guaranteed, but your current CSM may also be willing to help (depending on many factors). That's what worked for me.

I'm a genius and a smartass. He must know me. I'll keep the rest of my thoughts until I can find my Purple Crayons to write it out in a manner he'll understand. I know you and I'll say you are both. Maybe he doesnt understand crayon.

| I stand as charged and plead "No Contest" But enough about that, time to be civil. Andy, I actually feel your pain. I've been stuck at Bragg, in the 82nd, since before 9/11. I'm on my 3rd deployment in 5 years, too. It took a re-enlistment option and calling in a half dozen favors to repay issues I had fixed for CSMs and Full Birds alike, for me to get out of the Deuce, at least for a few years. Far as I can tell, I don't know you and the next statement isn't to pass judgement, just advice based on my limited experiences in your type of situation. Getting a TRADOC assignment won't be easy, unless the person who's recommending you thinks you're one of the best at what you do and wants you to otherwise teach it to the young troops. I do wish you good luck with your quest.

Welcome, Andy. And of course most of us are dicks; we're paratroopers.
