Yeah, I picked up a copy of the Atlanta rag on the way out of town and saw that of all the people they ran a photo of with the General was Ron.  And I noticed they attributed the event to the 82nd.  Stupid reporters.

In talking about the Festival and the General let's not forget that Golden Rak was there with his son-in-law and his grandson.  Nice looking kid who starts at the USMA this summer.  Rak, at times you almost looked proud of your grandson.  Congrats to him.  I don't think I actually said it to him but let him know that I do appreciate his service to our Country.  I know he will do well since he comes from good stock.

Mark, tell me if I'm wrong, but doesn't DL at your chest height look like Cornelius from "The Planet of the Apes"???
Al, that is just plain wrong!

Mark, he wouldn't have even remembered it except that it was one of the inflight movies for one of the recent flights for which he served as a flight attendant.

GR... Yeah, in all the stuff going on, thats a big one to mention. GR not only had his son in law and his grandson there (great people) but GR was acting as Padre for the whole event and got some seriously personal face time of his own with the VIPs.

Barry and Mark,

Thanks for your kind words.  I coudn't help myself of being proud of my grandson Ted.  The accomplishment of getting the appointment to USMA is all his and his parents.  In addition, he already is talking about going AIRBORNE!

It was like a P-net Convention with all the members who were on hand...no pun intended Ertman, the comraderie and booze flowed easily among the group. Of course GR was there to keep us grounded and as always is an inspiration! It was good to see his young men who are definetly a chip off the block.

I want to thank all my Airborne Bros for showing up and sup
