I am proud to say I served with a few of these vets and I will never forget Charlie "Grumbles" Crumbles.  Seems like most of the SGM's in SF, around the time I was drafted, came from that unit.

Hey RW you troll why don't you post a proper fucking Intro if you are as high-speed low drag as you claim following SOP's should be second nature there slapnuts.

Blind Faith in your leaders or your country will get you killed.

Extremist are nuts on either side. Moderation is key in seeking the truth.

yeah...anyway, was at Ft. Benjamin-Harrison in '05 and expect to go back in '07, great time.  Helena has some very friendly bars... Marysville House is one of the best steakhouses in the country...yes looking forward to going back there.  The museum there for the 1st Special Service Force is outstanding, will try to take some pictures this time and post.

SF never was famous for following directions.  We always seem to violate them some how.  First I need to know what SOP.  Where is it posted?

The e-mail you received after registering gave the details on filling out the bio in your profile and posting an intro in the New Personnel Reporting.  Hooah?

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American GI.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

I agree the instructions are there but nothing states there is a requirement to fill out the bio.  So I never did.  But to satify some personnel I have posted a BIO.

You might want to take a look at our website here in the UK...

www.freewebs.com/fssf-uk

Some of our members are ex military, and I done my five jumps in 2004, self funded, and because of the window in the weather, in one day...We have been up La Difensa a couple of times, the first time myself and two Canadian living history buffs (don't like the word "re-enactor") to lay a plaque dedicated to the Force (we went up the same way as the Force did, with WWII uniforms and equipment, and slept in WWII sleeping bags). The UK group will be going back up next May...For the story of our climb, go into our website and follow the link...

We don't even begin to pretend we are good enough to be those guys, we just keep their memory alive here in the UK to a public that beyond the scope of Band of Brothers etc, have never heard of them. We are recognised by the FSSF Association (I am a member), and communicate with the veterans for advice and help.

Hope you enjoy our website.

There is also a "re-enacting" group here in the UK, I prefer to call us "living history" group as we dress and use equipment peculiar to the Force. We set up our living history displays at events for the public to view and they "get educated", last August at the Glenn Miller Festival we had Force veteran William "Sam" Magee over, he ate from 1944 mess tins, slept in a 1940's sleeping bag camping out in our command tent, he instructed us in our display area on "how it was done"...We also conduct field trips in our FSSF uniforms to the likes of La Difensa in Italy, climbing and sleeping and eating authentic 1940's gear and food...
We will never let the public forget about this special unit, whom the US and Canadian Special Forces claim their decent...
