| A girl I graduated high school with was involved in a serious car accident. Her son (3years old) was with her. Her parents and I (along with my parents) are good friends and we often get together for dinner as well as work on home improvements together. When Jim was deployed, her dad was at my house a lot helping me paint, redo the bathroom, etc. Please keep her and her son in your prayers as there is a long road of recovery for her. First email: April was in a very bad car accident last Monday, August 13th. A pickup truck went crossed the median side swiped two cars before hitting April head on. She is still in the hospital and will be for at least 2 more weeks. She suffered a fracture at C7, a punctured lung, several broken ribs, her legs were shattered and she has breaks in her left foot. Brandon has a broken left leg and arm along with 3 fractured vertebra. He is wearing a cast on his leg, arm and body. He was released on Thursday and is staying with us. They took April by care flight to Miami Valley. She is doing real well they moved her to rehab last night. But it will be a long haul before she will be able to walk.
Second email: I did call Vince this afternoon, and he said April gets home (to his house) tomorrow. The accident happened two weeks ago this morning as April was taking Brandon to daycare at the Glen where Kay works. Apparently a car crossed the median, struck two other cars, and then April’s. Brandon was taken to Children’s Hospital and April Careflighted to Miami Valley. Brandon has a broken leg, arm, and several vertebrae. He is in a body cast besides arm and leg casts—and is still trying to run! Basically April’s legs were shattererd; she has all kinds of pins in her knees, leg bones, and toes. She was moved from intensive care after about a week to a regular room to rehab. She is using a wheelchair now. Vince and Kay have ordered a hospital bed and are building a ramp outside their house. April can put no pressure on one leg for two months and the other for six to seven months; they estimate it may be a year before she can walk completely on her own. Vince says there has to have been lots of prayers offered; most people who have seen April’s car and/or her injuries find it hard to believe she is alive.

I'm Surprised Panama's still sea level, after all the Push Ups I did down there.

Father, once again your children have been badly hurt and we approach you to ask for their healing. Touch their broken bodies and knit their bones and spirits together once again. You are the One who created our bodies and you are the One who heals. Surround them with your love and compassion and people who will help the heal.
In Jesus all powerful name Amen

I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me."
