Somebody told me the 1-111th Inf Pa. Guard supported the 501st in Mosul. Can anybody confirm or deny?

I did go to the units homepage. Seemed the 1st shirt in A co. Mark Deutsch, sounded familar. Anybody know if he is a member here? There wasn't any mention of service in OIF, on the Bn or Co homepage.

| A 1-111th supported OIF. Mark Deutsch I believe was the 1SG while there, but I am not positive. I know he was over there and I know he became the HHC 1SG shortly after he got back, and has since left. I thought I had heard that they were operating in Baghdad though, I am not sure if they were in Mosul.

I realize that this is an old post, but it’s not everyday that you see your name posted on a forum. I thought I would take a few minutes to signup and answer the original question. A co 1/111th Infantry BN (PA National Guard) was mobilized in 2004 in support of OIF 3. We arrived in Bayji, Iraq in December 2004 and were replaced by the 101st in November 2005. The 1/111th IN BN is part of the 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 28th Infantry Division in Pennsylvania, which is slated to be deployed later this year (2008). http://www.armytimes.com/news/2008/05/army_deployments_051908w/ 1SG Deutsch
