Hope it went smooth and he recovers quickly. Will keep him in our prayers.

So far, so good.  Mom called last night and it was a long surgery, but he is recovering.  She is going over this morning to pick him up from the hospital.  They will not know for a few months about his vision.  thank you for the prayers everyone.  I know they helped.  He is 92 yo and refuses to slow down.  I hope this makes him slow down just a bit.

Slowing down ain't an option at that age kiddo... his drive is one of the aspects that has allowed him to stay healthy.

Glad to hear he is doing well. I can only hope that I will have people talking about slowing me down at 92.

okay, let me reiterate.  He loves going to retirement homes, hospitals and praying with patients, handing out communion, etc.  However, he drives like a bat out of hell and has had several close calls and hits.  We are hoping that this will prevent him (slow him down) on his driving, not on his prayer and faith work.  He bought a house across from the church last year so he can walk to his parishners.

Ok... A member of the "White Haired Wonders Driving Club" as I call them.. They come in many different shapes sizes and colors, but the common denominator being they have forgotten most if not all the key rules of the road. Like, you do not pull out in front of(cut off) someone in a 40 mph zone, and either stop for no apparent reason, or go 15 miles per hour. Even sitting still they can be recognized by their death grip on the steering wheel and having their face an inch away from the windshield (like that will help them see where they are going any better)...
If I ever get to that point, just shoot me.
