I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers over the last week or so. After a mind numbing two day wake, we buried my father on Monday at Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island. The honor guard was composed of an USAF Tsgt and an Army SGT, complete with electronic Taps.

A special thank you for the flowers!! My eyes were sweating when I found them there.

Mark, The funeral sounds perfect for a man like your father.  May he rest in peace and may you and your family find comfort in knowing he is now living without pain.

"Hundreds of thousands of American servicemen and women are deployed across the world in the war on terror. By bringing hope to the oppressed, and delivering justice to the violent, they are making America more secure. "

Glad to hear that he had at least some kind of military service. Electronic taps.. ick. In the future if anyone is looking for proper buglers... hit up http://www.buglesacrossamerica.org and see if you can get someone in your area.

Sorry to here about your loss, prayers to you and the family. Wish I could have been there for the Wake and Services.

I'll crank out Amazing Grace this evening on the pipes for him.

"American Parachutists...devils in baggy pants...are less than 100 meters from my outpost line. I can't sleep at night; they pop up from nowhere and we never know when or how they will strike next. Seems like the black-hearted devils are everywhere..."

Rest In Peace
