Hey all,

I am new here, just wanted to meet some other Paratroopers.  I am from the 151st Inf Det (LRS).  Call me a cherry but just got my cherry blaster a few weeks ago in a UH-60, great jump.

Welcome! Please feel free to start your own thread so the men here can properly welcome you to their fold.  And make sure you bring plenty of drinks!

"Hundreds of thousands of American servicemen and women are deployed across the world in the war on terror. By bringing hope to the oppressed, and delivering justice to the violent, they are making America more secure. "

15 years in the navy working with aircrew survival equip. mostly EA-6B Prowlers. then i got "lucky" enuff to go teach at the BAC. Been here a year.

Let's see, 15 years active duty, you are probably a PR1 or above, former west coast VAQ sqaudron (yeah, like there are any elsewhere!), primarily O-level most of career, maybe even a NAMTRA Instructor tour in Californication country, SEAOPDET "IS" your middle name...and "lucky" you are not!  Was I even in the ball park?

SMSB

close. PR1, mostly I-level, did west and east coast VAQ's, no NAMTRA. i have seen you post about working the flightdeck. whats your rate, and what have you been doing?

Livin the good life here in FL!

I guess you could say I kept my head on a swivel most of the time I was active duty....worked on 3 ships (IM-4 every time) in 12 years....6 med cruises....Palma De Mallorca was the best place in Europe we partied!  Worked flightdeck troubleshooter on SE on all 3 boats....never knew how important a freakin flight deck scrubber was during flight ops till it goes down! Did a 4 year tour at NAMTRAGRUDETJAX....outstanding freakin duty!  I was officially qualified to tell bonafied sea stories!  Left the Navy as an AS1 in 98'.

Doing F/A-18 ATFLIR engineering support for NADEP Cecil and JAX now....keeps me busy chasing all these new young split tail tech writers in the office the boss has hired!  Tough job, but somebodies got to do it!

I found this site thru friends of my dad who served in 101st.  Great bunch of warriors here!

How bout you bro?  How's BAC duty there?

You know hooaah's value the training you give'm when they don't team up on your a$$ and hang joe navy upsidedown from the rafters!  Had a pipeline C-school class of marine SE hooaah's try that on me......they ended up pushing in foot and a half of water mixed with runoff one rainy afternoon in the fuel burm pit for an hour. Then their gunny got ahold of them!

i dont worry about the army kids. they are too scared of NCO's to try anything. the seals on the other hand wouldn't give it a second thought.

How's the course material u'r teaching from?  Lot's of added notes in the LP, or do you just improvise? You know I still remember revising the Oxygen Systems Test Set manual as my first project I tackled when I got out of the Nav!  Had a hell of a time wiith NAWC Lakehurst rep. Jack Wesscoat on getting the graphics to match the equipment, was one of the reasons I learned how to edit the damn things myself and go on later to drafting and eng. work...stand tall brother, I don't miss the long hours underway, and hope your BAC tour is a safe one!
