Hello,

I am guilty of callin' the Air Force,The Air Farce. And have called you all "zoomies or wingnuts" in the past, mainly in jest.Anyone old school that was a PJ at the start of the program; My Dad died of cancer, last week.I wish to speak/write to whoever,esp-ecially if you knew my Dad.Don P.Thies,he lost a Bro in Viet-nam in '61,and can't remember if he ended up being "left" at Tan Son Nhut w/1 or more guys from the PJ program. He was on a Medvac flight from Yokohama,Japan. He was put on "TDY"@ a year in-country,w/ a Army Aviation unit, and used to drink some 'cause he lost some guys to wounds when he was treating them.He told me at the time,Air Force "did not know what to do with us".Anybody who could tell me more about my Dad would be appreciated,I had to pry some stuff from him.My Step-mom say's a few of his old buddies showed up and told way more than he ever said.

                             HOOAH!

My condolences.

Try posting at http://www.specialtactics.com

A lot of PJ's hang there, and it's probable that some of them knew your dad.

Not goin' to lie,it brought a tear to my eye. But,He is in a much better place, and he said he'd mark the DZ for us all,I jokingly told him that was a CCT or Pathfinder job.(LOL!)Thanks for se-ntiments.And SN thanks for the site I will go there,A.S.A.P.He would want me,all of us to Charlie Mike,as he loved jumping out of perfectly good aircraft,so he thought anybody who did was his,Bro.Peace.

Sorry to hear about that brother.  Absolutely try specialtactics.com  and/or socnet.  You can also contact the Para Rescue Indoctrination Course at Lackland AFB.  They are part of the 342nd TRS over there and keep a good history of themselves.
