ALCON, Hello. Good to see other Vicenza boys on the net. I was in Caserma Ederle, Vicenza, Italy, in C Co. (Charlie Rock) and HHC (Work-Horse), Scout Plt., 3-325 (Blue Falcons) and 1-508 (Red Devils) ABCT from 95-98. I was with C Co in Bosnia and when we re-flagged from the 3-325 to the 1-508. Shortly after we re-flagged, I went over to the Scout Plt. and did Scout stuff, like drink beer in Erbezzo, etc. I of course remember, the Club "V"., Septembers, Il Fauno, The Boom, Paladium, The Red and Black, The Crazy Bull Cafe, Joe Dugans and many other drunk spots, Good times brothers! As a matter of fact, I was just back over there in SEP to visit my daughter; a lot has changed but some is the same. Monte Barico is still there for you running fans and I had to take a jog up it for old times sake, although for some reason, my time wasn't as quick. Who could forget that; running up the "dark-side" of Barico; almost getting hit by cars en-route and trying to beat the train that went across the road. More creds? How about the NATO+USA=666 sign on that house by the overpass on the way into town? Long live the ABCT!

Welcome to the DZ Q-tip,
there are quite a few Vicenza Veterans here. I was a 4/325 in 85-86. I remember when a bunch of the newly rotating in 3/325 dummies raised hell in town and ruined our good reputation with the locals. I hope they forgave ya, those Italian gypsy curses can be hell on a man. (look, I know it wasnt you, but it was the Blue Falcons,,, )
BTW,
for old times sake I'll have a Diablo beer and a flaming buca shot (dont forget the coffee beans)
Tex out, John Holloway.
Diplomacy, subtlety and regard for someones feelings don't seem to blend well with the "Spirit of the Bayonet"!
