I was on earlier today, and heard some guys talking about TAC-P; when I was in 2ID back in '03, I worked with some TAC-Ps there. One was SSgt Campbell, the other i've forgotten; anyway, we did some great training out at KTC and got along real well. After transferring to the Army Medical Corps(and hating it), I'm ready to get back into some fun, and wanted to find out more about TAC-P. Can anyone help out an old Cav Trooper?

My advice would be not to waste your time. I tried to switch over and do that a year ago and it was nothing but a waste of time and I have worked fire support my whole career. The air force won't deal with you until you are out of the ARMY. So I ETS'd and then went knocking on the recruiters door with a letter of recommendation from a LTC who was in charge of TACP. Needless to say after 8 months of BS, I was turned down for entry into the air force and the reason given to me is that they are overstrengh (just not in their hooah fields) and they would only take prior service ARMY into the combat control or pararescue. I told them to fuck themselves and went back to the ARMY. Yeah, we don't get all the toys to play with the tacp's get but I still get to put rounds down range. Good Luck if you try but I for one was not successful in my attempt.
