Just so everyone knows, Trooper9 is a retired senior NCO with much time spent at Bragg, Vicenza and Ft. Chaffee.  Units included the 509th and the 325th.  He used to be registered but his previous user name was part of the purge last year.  He is still in the manifest because his birthday notice popped up recently.

As for the Reunion, I will post more details as I get them.  But for all of you 509 veterans out there(K-Dog, SF11bp) this is the party to be at.  For those of you who weren't with the 509, come on and enjoy the fun.  You will get to meet some outstanding Airborne heros, some with four jumps.  We welcome all Troopers to find out what it was like to be in a real Airborne outfit.  Okay, heading for the bunker now.

Think the 509th Reunion needs some reenacting displays?  I can see what I can set up...

(If I'm still here...may have to PCS in that time)

Fred, sorry I didn't answer you earlier.  The Association has had Paratroopers from other units attend our Reunions.  We like everybody's money.

Anyone planning on attending should be sure to register soon.  After June 15th the Registration fee goes up $10 or $15.  Also, I now understand the rate for the hotel is only guaranteed through June 13th.  Time to hook up, Troopers.

509Trooper,

Just wanted to let you know that we got our roomsinNew Orleans "situated" through Geronimo 9(CSM). SGT McCurdy and I will be arriving down there sometime around 1700-1800 on the 6th.  Sorry I didnt get a chance to see you at the change of command but someone responsible has to march the Troopers on the parade field

Looking forward to seeing everyone in New Orleans.  We will be sure to bring the Association flag and the other items you dropped off with SGT McCurdy.  Take care, see you on the drop zone.  All the way!

War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patrioic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse.  A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made so and kept so by the exertions of men better than himself. - John Stuart Mill
