JROTC has some marginal benefits if you are going in the military, but it is not a requirement for SROTC.
Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American GI. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Roger that Barry, I don't think OBC is waived in any officer branch, especially IOBC since it is designed to get O-1s ready for Ranger school and to lead an infantry platoon in combat. There is no way you can learn all there is to know from ROTC or OCS alone. As it is once you get to your first platoon as a 2LT you still have a ton to learn from your men and from the experience. OBC simply makes you branch qualified and deployable.
