I know that at some point there was an article posted on the opening of the new USO in Terminal B of the DFW Airport.

Just an FYI, after many emailings and phone calls to get the info on how to help I finaly got my answer. Sat Moring I will get to start helping them as a volunter as a USO host for the passing Soldiers and Service Members and those waiting for flights. I didn't get to go play in the sand but I'll do what I can to thank those who did, are, or are heading that way.

Pat on the back from me. I remember fondly the reception the USO folks gave us when I came home on mid tour leave last Nov. I flew into Baltimore, but the people for the USO always seem to have the same great attitude no matter where they are at. I hope you enjoy yourself, I'm sure you will.

You're a good man Sarge. I'd like to see our 82d Chapter help out here in Atlanta.

Stand in the door!

There is a USO at Atlanta that I go too whenever I have a layover. There is also a military lounge run by Delta. I have a hour and a half layover on the 17th of this month there and will be stopping in.

Is the reason the USO is not as prominant anymore because of lack of funding or lack of interest?

Good deed Vman, I'm proud of ya, Bro. Don't hear much about the USO anymore, I wasn't even sure it was still active. We had the Donut Dollies in Korea in 60, but I can't remember if they were USO or a separate independent organization..They couldn't sing worth a shit, the donuts were used as hockey pucks they were so freakin hard, but the Donut Dollies were good ole U.S.A. born and bred round eyes, we loved them, and looked forward to their visit each month.

I went to the DFW USO Club today for 6 hours. I can remember USO Volunteers when I came back from the Gulf War and wanted to do the same. I'm scheduled for a couple more times this week. Wish I could do more. An interesting afternoon talking with these troops, in good spirits, though some were nervous. ---Wow 2 weeks does go by quick, but then again, they did have the R&R. HOOAH!
