I am working on this year's 509th Parachute Infantry Association. It will be May 19-23 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Any of you 509 vets out there who are interested shoot me an e-mail and I will send you the registration form.

In less than 2 hours I will be leaving work. I am off all next week for the Reunion so I will not be online much, if at all.

I got back yesterday from the 509th Reunion. I still have some sleep to catch up on but I am really pumped. I don't have a count of WWII vets but ran into a couple of guys who were in my company and our times overlapped. We had the Battalion CSM and a color guard make it from Ft. Polk. At the Banquet Saturday night all of us were surprised when the color guard showed up in M1942 jump suits, M1 jump helmets and Garands.
Outstanding time was had by all and I made a refreshment resupply every day and finally quit trying to keep up with how much we were drinking.
One final note, if your organization is looking for a place to have a reunion or you are looking to host one I recommend Chattanooga and the Marriott there. Absolutely outstanding support and help.

The keynote speaker for the Reunion was Patrick O'Donnell, author of "Beyond Valor", "Into the Rising Sun" and "Operatives, Spies and Saboteurs". Patrick is a great guy and a great speaker. His speech, which was tailored to 509 veterans he had interviewed, including some who were in the room, was outstanding and very much appreciated.

Keith, I don't have a final count but it was right at or above 120. Vicenza and Mainz era vets were around a dozen. I believe this is more than 10% of the membership. That's also more than 50% of the total for last year in Vegas.
