Im sorry to have to do this but due to the circumstances I feel I must remove myself from the 2004 bid for National Director. As many of you know, Ive been out of work for some time, making ends meet has been problematic, and it effects my schedule and ability to concentrate on things NOT directly related to making a dollar to a pay a bill. The effects are showing in more than a few of my veteran related side jobs, when I attempt to spend time on them, something comes up that could or will bring in a few dollars, and Im hurting enough that I MUST turn my focus to those. My duties as Chicago Secretary have been effected enough that the executives in my chapter have sent a written notice to me regarding the noticed issue and reminded me that if I cannot perform my duties fully as secretary of a chapter, I might reconsider a bid for National Director... Ive taken this notice to heart. Realized that overloading my plate (as noble a cause as things might be) isnt doing me any favors and is effecting everything ELSE already on my plate. Therefore... effective immediately Im retracting my bid for National Director and endorsing Al Larson in his bid for the office. Thank you for all those who've shown your support to me, and I hope that you might consider Al since he embodies most of what I have been talking about in the last 2 years, he'll make a fine addition to the national directors and speak solidly for our generation. Respectfully, Mark Christianson

Mark, I am saddened by your decision not to run for National Director but I also understand your reasons and respect your decision. Throwing your support to Al is a selfless act and proves what a big man you are as well as being a hell of a Paratrooper. Well done Mark and good luck to Al Larson for his run. I salute both of you.
Stand in the door!

Sorry to hear that Mark. If there was any way to help you employment-wise I would.
Arizona is just starting to heat up economically and jobs are starting to proliferate. I am gainfully employed but because of my past relationship with several headhunters, . . I have received two offers for interviews in the past two weeks.
I am sure that relocation is one of the last things you would consider, . . but I cannot help but believe that it won't be long before your area sees a turnaround. Our prayers are with you.

Mark, I fully understand your situation. Know that You have and always will have my support in case you run in the future. I was looking forward to seeing (hopefully) BOTH you and Al get elected this year. But Family and homelife does come FIRST. ( Sometimes we forget that) It can be very challenging at times even at the local chapter level officers if Job situation or homelife is running a little rough. My Respect to you and as I told you yesterday, I have EVERYTHING Crossed for your interveiw tomorrow And yes I have pulled a commando raid on the Neighbors as well and they have Fingers , Toes and everything they can cross as well.
