Ranger Alan Campbell died last week of MONO??, we think. Another Ranger website that I get 100 e-Mails from everyday, reports that Ranger Campbell was admitted to a local hospital with Mono and died shortly there after. I dont know much more than that except to tell you that Ranger Alan Campbell was a quiet Ranger who NEVER complained and always did his job.

Ranger Campbell was my RTO for over 1 Year and Jumped right behind me on C-130's and C-141 aircraft. We made many jumps together and He always carried his weight be it PRC-77 or 74B, and all of the batteries , antennas, etc that went with it.

I lost track of Ranger Campbell after He left the Army, except I knew He later got married , had kids and got a divorce. He became a Lawyer somewhere in the middle of all of this and never forgot his Ranger Company at FT. Hood, Texas and the Rangers he became friends with.

Ranger Campbell you are in my thoughts and prayers, while you go to the big patrol base in the sky, just keep monitoring that Radio untill I can link up with you!

Sorry to hear that...

I am about to attend a reunion of my old comrades and it is sad to hear about those who have passed away. Some of them I knew really well and it really gets to ya.
