I'm shipping March 4th to Ft. Leonardwood. They pushed my date back 2 weeks from February 12th when I changed my MOS. I was supposed to go to Ft. Jackson with my previous MOS.

Shipped from the LA recruiting depot on 1 July 1975. Shipped on the wrong day. Due to the oil crisis back then 2 days a week they trained the recruits instead of flying them. Spent 3 days on a train going from LA to LA without air conditioning. Damn it was a hot summer in AZ, NM, and TX. Then 16 grand and glorious weeks at Fort Puke, Lousyanna, July to Oct. Pitty the man who does basic/AIT in LA in the summer. Thank god they closed the training base there. Now only the perm party have to endure it all summer long.

I have rank on you Arctic - I left on 20 June 75. Went to Knox, which was a short bus ride from Cincy.

Leaving Miami MEPS April 29th, probably be in Benning that same nite.

That OSUT cycle begins May 7th, which means that I'll be in reception for a week, surprising considering that in these months in processing lasts longer.

My contract shows: 11X, UNDECIDED, TRAINING OF CHOICE. It looks like a good chance of gettin airborne if offered at the end of training, which is what I really want.

Rob

Adredaline, congratulations on your contract man! Im glad to see that stuff worked out for the best in the end for you.
