Anybody know what the deal is today with getting Airborne guaranteed for 11B's? My best friends girlfriends brother is leaving for Benning on the 25th of this month. I told the kid to have me talk to his recruiter to help ensure he gets what he wants before he signed his contract. Well he didn't take that advice, so now he is unassigned 11x. and wants my help. So I'm am probably gonna ruin some NCO's day later today. I really want to see this kid gets (1st choice) either the 82nd(cause of course he wants to jump) or the 101st. I'm supposed to go down to the recruiter around 1400 today.

So if anybody has any advice on how to approach the situation with this kids recruiter. I would appreciate it. I am kinda a little peeved that this kid didn't even get a station of choice and was given the old line "they will come around and ask for volunteers for Abn school after basic."

Good luck RAAk, my advice would be to kick the kids ass for not doing what you told him in the first place.

From past discussions on this topic I don't know if you can do anything at this point, especially with only 12 days till he ships.  I would guess if you get anything changed it will delay his ship date

Thanks for your two cents there Joel. I don't think that this kid is gonna want to play hardball with em as in, "I aint shipping unless".

So all I can do is go have a chat with his recruiter. On the plus side his recruiter is a Grunt outta the 82nd. So maybe he'll hook a Brother up. Not holding my breath. I just would reallt hate to see this kid go to some  Mech unit
